Elizabeth grew up on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and was educated at the University of Virginia. After teaching in parochial school, she practiced law at two firms in Washington, D.C. -- Steptoe & Johnson and Ross, Dixon & Bell (now Troutman Sanders). She also has ownership and management experience in radio and in real estate. She currently serves as President of an agri-business, Byrd Foods, Inc. In addition, she has been affiliated for many years with the C.S. Lewis Institute, and she currently serves on the boards of the Center for Christian Study and Good Samaritan Advocates

While Elizabeth’s career in business and law has been varied and challenging, she sees public speaking, coaching, mentoring and writing as her greatest privileges. For the last ten years, she has taught seminars and led retreats designed to encourage others to explore new vistas in emotional, relational and spiritual growth. To this end, she also meets with people one-on-one and in small-group settings in her capacity as a personal coach. In addition, she writes curricula for and leads workshops, including a ten-week series called Abundant Living. She has authored a book entitled Grief Is A Love Word, which will be available soon.

She and her husband Wray live in McLean, Virginia, and have three adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys family and friends, swimming and photography.
