sheep

Sometimes it’s hard not to think about God.  Even the most determined atheist must get a little nervous under a starry sky.  And then there are sunrises and daisies and the light playing on your office wall.  I’d like to add one more thing to the list – sheep.  They walk around carrying about a hundred sweaters on thin stalks of legs that you can only see from the knees down, and their heads (which don’t fit either) are all eyes and ears.  The stars remind you that God is great, but the sheep give you a little glimpse of His smile.

“Seek to cultivate a buoyant, joyous sense of the crowded kindnesses of God in your daily life.” Alexander MacLaren
