Here are three true things:
1. “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
2. “God created human beings in His own image, reflecting His nature.” Genesis 1:27
3. “[God] is the most joyous being in the universe.” Dallas Willard
Do me a favor. Stop what you are doing for a few minutes, and imagine yourself as a joyous being, filled with light and unmarred by darkness. Imagine enjoying as pure gift whatever health or wealth or food or drink you have today. Imagine welcoming and treasuring the person beside you, just as she is. Imagine overflowing with joy for the person who has the ____ that you want. For these few minutes, you have been imagining yourself the way God imagines you--as a joyous being, filled with light and unmarred by darkness.
