It’s hard to feel self-sufficient when you’re facing tough and painful circumstances, and that is a very good thing.
“Let me fly from myself and take refuge in Thee. . . . Let me distrust myself and put my trust in Thee.” St. Augustine

If the unlovely things in the person beside you aren’t the real person, why not look deeper?
