my daddy

Charlie was two years old and about two feet tall. He was in the playroom when the workman from the well company arrived at our house to troubleshoot (we had no water). Charlie heard us grownups talking in the kitchen and scampered in to join us. For a few minutes, he stood looking up at the workman, surveying his tools. Then he made an announcement: “My daddy can fix the water.” The workman nodded respectfully. Then Charlie made a second announcement: “My daddy already fixed the water.” Charlie had complete confidence that his daddy was so great and so good that he could and would do every good thing. I want to be like Charlie, especially when I am afraid.
